lyrics
Eve was poisoned, Pierre was shot
Predestined to be soulmates
Invisibly (as) ghosts
Premature violent deaths
Back to life, second chance
The plays are made.
THE CHIPS / ARE DOWN
Powerless to help
Brought back to life
Overthrow the Regency?
The plays / are made
THE CHIPS / ARE DOWN / DOWN!
End the resistance
Both distracted, Pierre unbound
Stop the slaughter of his friends.
No revolution.
But sacrificing their love.
By talking to the dead
By fighting for their souls
They lose what they love – a sacrifice!
By talking to the dead
By fighting for their souls
The dreams of second chance – failed to pass
By talking to the dead
By fighting for their souls
The dreams of second chance – crushed at last.

If you know Kavrila you're aware of the fact that their music is as life-affirming as the prospect of attending a mass execution. Still, Mor hits different and cuts way deeper than all of the Rituals trilogy. Mor has singer Alex processing his mother's death and yes, this is exactly how it feels listening to this thing. Deeply uncomfortable and horrendous. To clarify: this really is a good album. But it's not one I see return myself to often because I can hardly bear it. Well done! David Fischer

I love Mantar. Theirs is one of the most impressive live performances I have ever seen: primitive, sweaty and more energetic than most coal power stations. Having such a beloved artist release a new album is always a bit scary, especially after three very strong offerings in a row. Still, Mantar remain untouchable and return with their most accessible (read: 'still kicking you in the balls until your teeth pop out') release so far. Odysseus might be their best song yet. The kings are back. David Fischer
