lyrics
Butcher of Petrograd!
Our kin to rise against.
Oppose the bourgeoisie…
But freedom they did slay.
Threatened with a bloodbath
Famine and discontent
Comrades of Kronstadt base
Raising fifteen demands.
“Immediate new elections to the soviets
Liberation of speech and of press for the workers
Anarchists – socialists – organize!”
Bolshevik government reacts
Answered with violent attacks
Martial law – gain control - surpression
Butcher of Petrograd
A traitorous game
(Once) we were fighting back to back.
We sold our soul…
Butcher of Petrograd
(Once) we were fighting back to back.
Butcher of Petrograd
(Once) we were fighting back to…. back.

If you know Kavrila you're aware of the fact that their music is as life-affirming as the prospect of attending a mass execution. Still, Mor hits different and cuts way deeper than all of the Rituals trilogy. Mor has singer Alex processing his mother's death and yes, this is exactly how it feels listening to this thing. Deeply uncomfortable and horrendous. To clarify: this really is a good album. But it's not one I see return myself to often because I can hardly bear it. Well done! David Fischer

I love Mantar. Theirs is one of the most impressive live performances I have ever seen: primitive, sweaty and more energetic than most coal power stations. Having such a beloved artist release a new album is always a bit scary, especially after three very strong offerings in a row. Still, Mantar remain untouchable and return with their most accessible (read: 'still kicking you in the balls until your teeth pop out') release so far. Odysseus might be their best song yet. The kings are back. David Fischer
